So Hermes has clothing, shoes, accessories.. but what about ski gear? To be sliding down the slopes in the a remarkable outfit made by Hermes would be to die for.

Hermes makeup bag! You need something to fill that with. Hermes makeup would be a great extension to the line because Hermes is known for the quality and if they are known for good quality, even I would be willing to give up some money for their makeup. A makeup line that coincides with the colors of the collection that is out is a great idea, too.

Hermes knockoffs are seen everywhere. Everywhere someone is trying to copy. Above is a knockoff Blackberry phone case. If Hermes ever came out with an iPhone snap on leather case I believe the consumers would go wild. Here in a couple years, you won't have a choice but to upgrade to high tech phones with internet. The iPhone is taking the world by storm and with a sleek, fashionable, durable phone case to protect an item that basically holds you entire life (e-mails, contacts, calendars, reminders, pictures, notes, etc) then it would sell like crazy!

A leather steering wheel cover to go with the leather interior made by the timeless Hermes. You could get it made out of the ostrich or leather or even fur if you wanted it to! This would be complimentary because I think to afford Hermes in general you need to be a working individual, so why not ride around in style?

Spring 2012 Hermes

Spring 2012 was inspired by traveling and other wordly influential things. The clothing shows hints of Moroccan styles and Oriental styles which are found with the clean lines and very flowy, loose, relaxed silhouettes. The Fall 2011 collection shows through this collection, too.. with the neutrals and the pops of colors.

Fall 2011 Hermes

Hermes has always been known to use animal material to make their products. Fall 2011 is a great example of this. Above you see the leather boots, leather belts, fur hats, fur jackets, fur shrugs and even an animal held by one of the models. From the few pictures I have posted, you can see Hermes decided to go for a quilted approach to some pieces in the collection; which is great for the fall/winter.

At the end of the commercial the line, “Hermès, contemporary artisan since 1837″ flashes across the screen. The Fall/Winter 2011 campaign certainly pays homage to that idea.

The color scheme stays true to the Hermes tradition. The neutral colors with a pop of orange or teal. Naturally home and earthy colors, nothing too extravagant.

Spring 2011 Hermes

As you could see from a few samples of the Fall 2011 collection of Hermes, a huge inspiration for their line is, of course, leather. Leather played a big part in the clothing that was shown on the runway this season. Above, you see it being used in the gloves, both black and brown, worn by multiple models. You also see leather belts being worn and also leather shorts and jackets.

Not many of the clothing ensembles are body hugging or contouring to the body, but I believe they are made to make you feel comfortable and "whispy."

The thing that I loved most about this collection is the color scheme. I have always been a big fan of the suttle colors like beige, cream, black, and browns. They compliment you and don't wash you out.

Plans for the Future?

Some of the plans for Hermes in the future, I have found that they are beginning to raise their sell target as of 2011 because of the high demand. This is wonderful for the company seeing it means that consumers are buying their products up and demanding and higher quantity for them.

"French luxury company Hermes International SA (RMS.FR) Tuesday raised its sales forecast for the full year as strong demand in the U.S. and China boosted second-quarter sales."

"As it opens more stores to supply rising demand, Hermes said sales in 2011 will likely rise between 12% and 14%, excluding effects of currency fluctuations. The company's earlier forecast was for growth between 8% and 10%."

Also, SC Global Developments, a leading luxury residential property developer, today announced an exclusive collaboration with Hermès that will see the world’s first-ever apartment entirely decorated by Hermès at SC Global’s flagship development.

GO GREEN!

Some way that Hermès could go green is to maybe incorporate some of the scraps of material that is used, to make a patched purse or use the scraps to make a patched belt. That way you won't be wasting as much material AND you can have a new addition to your product line!

Instead of using powered machines to make the products, use manual labor.

It's hard to say what Hermès does to go green, I couldn't find anything on Hermès and the Go Green issue, but those above were just some ideas.

Social Issues of Hermès

I have not came across any social issues of the Hermès company in my research. If Hermès' workers were living in bad conditions, I would like the see the company taking further steps into making the worker's conditions more acceptable. If these people were the ones making your purses or belts then I think their conditions would be not so good. Though the ones that are behind the counter selling it, I feel like their living conditions wouldn't be as bad. There is something wrong here. The ones that put forth the effort to actually manufacture the products aren't getting enough pay in the factory work, yet the ones that get to stay in the air conditioned store dressed up fancy get adequate pay. The idea I have is for the company to make people feel equal which would also make the workers enjoy working there more if they feel like they were being accepted.

If Hermès was harming the environment, which many of the PETA followers would not be too excited about and already think they are harming the environment seeing that their products are made out of animal material, then maybe Hermès could start using a different material to make their things out of. Though Hermès is known for the leather and ostrich purses, bracelets, belts and so on, it would be an issue to find a replacement for their materials.
